Fundraising for “Ride for Heart”
It may have been a wet and soggy June 4th, 2017 morning, but that didn’t deter The Halftones, a group of TI Group employees and their family members from coming out in full stride and participating in the Becel Heart and Stroke Ride for Heart fundraising event.
Bring out participants of all age ranges, the event itself is an exciting once a year opportunity to run, walk or ride on a traffic-free Gardiner Expressway and Don Valley Parkway.
In its 30th year, riders had the option of a 25km, 50km or 75km bike ride along the Gardiner and DVP. Whilst for the 2nd year running, walkers and runners could choose between a 5km walk, or a 5km to 10km run along the Gardiner.
As a result, The Halftones managed to raise well over $1200 in their fundraising efforts. Way to go guys and gals!
All proceeds and donations raised from the event will be going towards promoting more awareness and funds for critical heart disease and stroke research.
