Shipper and Receiver (Full-Time Position)

We are looking for an energetic Shipper and Receiver that can perform general tasks including moving incoming and outgoing shipments by hand or using appropriate material handling equipment. The shift is 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday (40 hours/week).

How You’ll Get Results

  • Perform general shipping and receiving tasks
  • Adhere to customer delivery specifications
  • Organize workload to meet deadlines and to produce best productivity/use of materials
  • Carefully read and understand work orders and dockets
  • Manage the store and use of materials
  • Remove finished pallet form the line, stretch wrap loads as required and store product
  • Maintain housekeeping in Shipping/Receiving Department
  • Participate in decision-making regarding which corners to use and how best to transport goods
  • Willing to work in other departments as required
  • Ensure basic day to day maintenance and cleanliness of work area

Additional Responsibilities

  • Document and report any unsafe conditions in area prior to starting work
  • Operate within Quality and Health and Safety Guidelines according to company policy
  • Maintain a strong operational knowledge of all Shipping/Receiving equipment
  • Participate in development of new actions or procedures that contribute to continuous improvement
  • Available for additional hours if need be and will do what it takes to get the job done
  • Work with Supervisor to arrange adequate coverage for your duties and responsibilities for any planned absence i.e. holidays

Years of Experience:

  • 1 – 2 years in a related discipline

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Strong understanding of shipping/receiving operations and equipment
  • Physically fit and capable of handling different types of material weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Methodical and excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to multitask and works well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Good command of English language (written and verbal). Able to understand multi-step (sometimes complicated) technical instructions
  • Knowledge and awareness of safe working practices. Must operate within Quality and Health and Safety Guidelines according to company policy
  • Forklift license
  • Previous Shipping/Receiving experience preferred
  • Computer literate
  • First Aid Training

Sales Assistant/CSR (Full-Time Position)

Under the direction of the VP, Enterprise Sales, the Sales Assistant will provide support and co-ordination of our various market segments and sales activities. In this role, you will be assigned to specific accounts and/or Account Managers and will have direct and indirect revenue generating responsibilities.

How You’ll Get Results
This is the bridge between our customers and the Production Planning, this role will impact the final product they receive. The position has responsibilities to customers, to our Sales team, to our Manufacturing group, and to the company as a whole. It is responsible for the documented communication of customer critical issues such as changes to the delivery time frame and additional charges. This position also handles the administrative aspect of our order process, from estimating to invoicing, to ensure the timely processing of all of the documentation associated with a project.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive and co-ordinate all incoming orders and information, either through sales personnel, internal customers or directly from customers. Check all information received from the customer for accuracy and completeness.
  • Attend client meetings as required; receive all questions and concerns from external and internal customers.
  • Provide technical support between sales department and the client with inside personnel.
  • Responsible for the efficient flow of all customer changes, requests and ensuring that deadlines are met
  • Thorough knowledge of internal procedures and processes.
  • Responsible for the proper escalation of issues should customer expectations fail to be fulfilled.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on production process and follow up with Account Manager.
  • Confirming that all the information is available for an efficient processing of customer orders.
  • Co-ordinate all customer issues with the production planning department.
  • Accurate filing and tracking of customer files throughout the organisation.
  • Confirm flow of information between customers and external suppliers.
  • Ensure invoicing is done on a timely basis; all additional charges are documented and justified.
  • Support the quote request and order write up process in support of the Account Manager.
  • Responsible for communication work-back schedule to Account Manager, and updating of any changes.
  • Responsible for maintaining the customer database for assigned Account Managers.
  • Co-ordinate and schedule customer OKs and plant tours, when required.
  • Fully understand the print production process from prototyping to fulfilment and how to engage internal and external resources.
  • Gain a thorough knowledge and understanding of TI Group’s production equipment and capabilities
  • Supports team efforts and initiatives – participate in the on-going improvement of processes and methods
  • Take initiative, explore new methods, provide recommendations, share new ideas

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advanced Project Management Skills – PMP (Professional Project Management) preferred.

Years of Experience:
Minimum 3 Years in a Print and/or Display Manufacturing / POP environment

Education:
Post-secondary education including college or university in the graphic arts

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Thorough knowledge of printing process and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of the sales process; experience in sales and/or marketing.
  • Ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels, ability to cultivate relationships.

  • Solid working knowledge of all production equipment and processes in POP and POP finishing, distribution, and POP fulfillment.
  • Strong understanding of prepress methods (including colour management), finishing methods and requirements, other related manufacturing/fabrication, packaging and shipping.
  • Understanding of supporting technology – ePACE, creating/editing dockets, estimates, change orders, multiple dockets.

Production Planner (Full-Time Position)

We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, professional Production Planner that will work in our most central role at TI Group. This position has direct contact with the widest variety of people – customers, sales, estimating, plant managers, supervisors, line workers, suppliers, purchasing and accounting.

How You’ll Get Results
The Planner is responsible for managing and coordinating project(s) from docket creation to completion of the job. Working in a team, the Planner will work with other Planners to service an assigned Sales group.  The Planner will use resources on the team to solve problems and make decisions at all stages of the job.  You will also have relationships with Sales team, Manufacturing group, customers and Company as a whole.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Co-ordination
    • Have a thorough understanding of each job being handled – including end use. (A single job may have many parts.)
    • Confirm that all specifications received for the job are complete – including packing and shipping information – contact Sales, or the Customer, for clarification when necessary
    • Ensure that job specs match estimate provided, and communicate any cost variations to Sales.
    • Create a docket for each job as per current production department methods and processes
    • Arrange a schedule for proofing, printing and finishing – including the acquisition of outside materials and / or subcontracted work – as required to meet the delivery requirements of the project
      • If the requested delivery cannot be met, the best possible date must be determined and communicated to Sales immediately
    • Prepare all necessary layouts / impositions required for prepress
    • Inspect proofs and mock-ups before submission to Sales / Customer
    • Follow-up with TI Group employees, or with subcontractors, to ensure accuracy of work being done and timely delivery of materials, job parts and / or the finished project
    • Inspect and approve all final job samples – both customer and internal samples
    • Be available for consultation regarding job information before, during or after actual production
    • Be aware of, and responsible for, all costs associated with final production of jobs – NCRs where applicable are to be completed and approved
    • Ensure that all purchase orders are included and contain final, confirmed pricing
  • Review the overall costs of the job once complete and shipped to confirm that all job costs have been accrued – be prepared to explain variances from actual to estimated
  • Submit the completed docket and the reviewed (with comments) cost sheet within 48 hours of final shipment to Sales for final invoicing

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gain a thorough knowledge and understanding of TI Group’s production equipment and capabilities (speeds, limitations, preferred substrates)
  • Gain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the equipment and capabilities of our suppliers and sub-contracted vendors
  • Be available for colour and / or quality checks
  • Personally inspect the quality and correctness of work being done at TI as required
  • Periodically negotiate timing and / or pricing with suppliers to achieve promised delivery dates and / or recover profitability
  • Assist with, and ensure, the timely completion of NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) when required
  • Support team efforts and initiatives – participate in the on-going improvement of processes and methods
  • Take initiative, explore new methods, provide recommendations, share new ideas
  • Available for additional hours if need be and will do what it takes to get the job done
  • Communicate absences i.e. holidays to senior planner/team lead to arrange for adequate coverage for your duties and responsibilities
