Financial Analyst (Full-Time Position)

Reporting to the President, the Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting our functional leaders in examining and improving their financial results, annual budgets and variance analysis. This position also contributes significantly to developing cost justifications, capital investment requests, key performance indicators, and the creation of executive-level and management-level information dashboards.

This involves obtaining actual, plan and forecast information from our departments, and working closely with the VP, Finance to ensure that all of the information contained in various financial reports is reasonable and consistent.

The incumbent will need to operate at a detailed level and have strong analytical and interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, gather various data and develop, as well as maintain, Company-wide templates to facilitate ongoing monthly and quarterly reporting.

The role will have exposure to all the Company’s different products and services and produce a host of metrics which the executives will use to manage the Company.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Leadership Support

  • Lead the budgeting, planning and forecasting for the Company.
  • Prepare management reporting for functional leaders, share insight into the variances and assist in preparing financial presentations for senior leadership meetings.
  • Collect and analyze financial data, non-financial operating performance indicators, assess trends and variances that will identify the root causes of financial performance.
  • Routinely present business unit and Company financial/operating performance trends (historical and forecast) to business stakeholders.
  • Map current financial processes. Support the implementation and continuous improvement of financial policies, procedures and processes.
  •  Support confidential and/or sensitive Senior Management projects and initiatives.

Financial Analysis

  • Build, refine and rebuild financial models that are designed to understand and support the Company.
  • Analyze capital budgeting requests (new equipment) and manage operations capital budget (monitor and track all major projects).
  • Report on sales distribution by Sales category and Rep.
  • Report on sales profitability by client, product/service, market segment, etc.
  • Prepare variance reports on labour utilization, overtime, chargeable vs. non-chargeable work, and recovery rates based on actual billings.
  • Examine and routinely audit machine and labour rates to ensure adequate cost recovery.

 Additional Responsibilities

  • Contribute to compensation plan modelling.
  • Business centre pro formas (eg. isolate an account or a department and show a P&L for multiple business case scenarios) – predictive analytics.

 Education:

  • University / College degree in business administration/finance, accounting or related field

Years of Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ direct work experience in a similar role or manufacturing environment. Experience with performing financial analysis to support business cases and investment decisions.
  • Completed or working toward the CPA (accounting designation)

Knowledge / Expertise:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft excel – pivot tables, macros, and vlookup etc.
  • Excellent MS office skills and MS Visio for process mapping.
  • Ability to assimilate a large amount of information from multiple sources and present in a value-added form.
  • Detail orientated, able to manage several tasks with high level of accuracy.
  • Flexibility with changing deliverables.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and an ability to build relationships across departments.
  • Strong team orientation.
  • Familiarity with MIS software. ePace preferred.

  • Available for additional hours if need be, will do what it takes to get the job done

Guillotine Helper (Full-Time Position)

We are looking for a Guillotine Helper to provide ongoing help on general Cutting duties.  This position will assist the Guillotine Operator.  The evening shift is 5:00 pm to 3:00 am Monday to Thursday (40 hours/week).

How You’ll Get Results

  • Organize workload to meet deadlines and to produce best productivity / use of materials
  • Liaise with Supervisors and co-workers to ensure supply of required materials
  • Handle chemicals and ink and safely dispose of them properly
  • Operate equipment such as forklift, walkie talkie to move materials around plant
  • Willing to work in other departments as required
  • Carefully read and understand work orders and dockets
  • Preparation of a variety of substrate materials
  • Ensure basic day to day maintenance and cleanliness of work area

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Physically fit and capable of handling different types of material weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Methodical and excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to multitask and works well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Good command of English language (written and verbal).  Able to understand multi-step (sometimes complicated) technical instructions
  • Knowledge and awareness of safe working practices. Must operate within Quality and Health and Safety Guidelines according to company policy
  • Basic knowledge of printing i.e.) color and measurements
  • Computer literate
  • Available for unscheduled additional hours and different shifts of work
  • WHMIS Training (can be provided)
  • Fork-lift certification (can be provided)
